June might not be the time of year that you’re used to thinking about school, but it can actually be a great time to apply for scholarships because programs with June deadline dates are probably the last ones to award funds in time for the start of the next academic year.
To get the most comprehensive list of the scholarships you’re personally eligible for, be sure to find free college money with a customized search based on your individual profile. But if you’re in a rush to just get started with the applications as soon as possible, check out some of these nationally-known scholarships with upcoming June 2010 deadline dates:
- Scholarship Experts is offering the Super Power Scholarship again this year. Five students will be awarded with $1,000 for college costs and all you have to do is write a short story about which super power you would choose to have and what you would do with it. Applications are due on June 30th, 2010. While you’re there, be sure to sign up with their awesome (and totally free) scholarship search service to find even more awards you’re personally eligible to apply for.
- Abbot & Fenner Business Consultants are also offering a short, essay-based scholarship with a deadline in June. This one is due on the 19th and students respond to a question about the economy and how it is affecting average families. Winning student(s) receive $1,000 and in past years, one or two students have been selected to get that free money for college costs.
- Big Sun Athletics is providing another scholarship for high school seniors and college students who are active in any type of athletic activities. Entries are due on June 24th and one or more students will be eligible for $500 to help them with their educational expenses.
Of course, these aren’t the only scholarships with June 2010 deadlines – they’re just a few of the ones with very general eligibility criteria that everyone who reads this will be able to apply for. Once you’ve got your applications in for these scholarships, be sure to sign up for a more personalized search profile at Fastweb or ScholarshipExperts.com! You’ll find so many scholarships you’ll probably have to prioritize which ones you want to apply for first.

Hello, my name is Gabriel Emery, and I am a current student at Mid-America Nazarene University. This fall will be the start of my second year, and I will need help upon returning as I am currently on acedemic probation. This is due to having to pay bills, work two jobs with no means of transportation, full-time school, and school payments. I am a very hard worker and take my education very seriously, and by recieving this scholarship it would enable me to fully focus on my studies, get back into good acedemic standing, and become closer to acheiving my degree in higher education. Please consider me for your scholarship as it wont be wasted or taken for granted.
Thank You,
Gabriel Emery
