Upcoming Scholarships by Deadline Date:
- American Nuclear Society: Scholarships are available for returning undergraduate students with a focus on nuclear technology and physics. First-time freshman scholarship applications are not due until April of 2010. Deadline: February 1, 2010
- Burger King Scholars: The Have It Your Way Foundation is providing hundreds of $1,000 scholarships for first-time and incoming college freshmen. U.S. students with a 2.5 GPA are eligible, and selection is based on multiple criteria including financial need, community involvement, and work experience. Deadline: February 1, 2010
- American Physical Society Minority Scholarship: Minority students studying physics are eligible for scholarship awards that provide $2000 in the first year and $3000 a year during renewal years. Deadlines: February 5, 2010
- KFC Colonel’s Scholars: Graduating high school seniors who plan to attend a public or state college are eligible to apply for these multi-year scholarship awards. First year recipients will receive $5,000 on selection, up to a maximum of four years and $20,000 for college costs. Deadline: February 10, 2010
- Society of Women Engineers: Female engineering students may be eligible for a large selection of college scholarships with February deadlines. Interested applicants should review the SWE website to find programs and grants they are eligible to apply for. Deadlines: February 12, 2010
- DECA Scholarships: With dozens of scholarships ranging in value from $800 – $2000, here’s a great opportunity for business majors, students active in the community, and anyone who works for a member business. You’ll need to be a member of DECA to apply, but with $300,000 worth of college aid on the line, it might be worth it if you’re already involved with a related organization or corporation. Deadlines: February 12, 2010
- Daughter’s of the American Revolution: Students who are sponsored by a local chapter of DAR are eligible for scholarships ranging in value from $1,000 – $2,000. Be careful when deciding which award to apply for – many of them are not being offered during the 2010 – 2011 school year. Deadlines: February 15, 2010
- Ronald McDonald House Charities: High school seniors under the age of 21 are eligible for a variety of awards from the Ronald McDonald House charities, so long as they’re enrolled to attend a full-time college program following high school graduation. Deadlines: February 16, 2010
No matter what time of year it is, it is always a good time to apply for college scholarships! So of course, January and February are no exceptions.
