As I write this, March is just around the corner and that means a whole new set of scholarship deadlines is approaching. While this time of year is already busy enough with last minute FAFSA applications and spring semester midterms, there are also some prominent scholarships with due dates just around the corner.

March 2010 Scholarship Deadlines:

Here are some of the national awards with upcoming deadlines.  While the list is no where near exhaustive, this should give you a place to start and an idea of what types of scholarship programs are generally available.

  • Minority undergraduates are eligible to apply for the Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarships – and recipients will receive up to $7,500 per academic year.  Students cannot already posses a degree at the time of application, and those applications will be due on March 31.
  • The National Federation of the Blind is also providing scholarships with deadlines at March 31st.  Visually impaired students enrolled in a degree-granting program are eligible to compete for these awards.
  • The Foundation for Ashley’s Dream is accepting scholarship applications until March 31, 2010.  One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a U.S. student with a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.74.
  • The Fredrikson & Byron Foundation Minority Scholarship Program will provide one minority law student with $10,000 in financial assistance for tuition and other educational expenses. Applications are due March 31, 2020.
  • Full time undergraduate students are invited to apply for the Charnon Scholarship program, a $1,500 award that can be applied for every year that students achieve the eligibility criteria.  Applications for this scholarship are also due on the 31st of March.
