China is growing into one of the world’s largest economies and most important global powers. They are moving forward with their space program and they are hosting the Olympics this year. Hello All,
Amazing post, I know this when my wife tried to learn Chinese so she can talk to me in Chinese or participate in our conversations. (By the way, I am a Chinese who has spoken Mandarin for more than 30 years)
We invested in many Chinese courses and Chinese sofware for her, and she did picked up some Chinese basic words from these programs.
But when she spoke Chinese to my friends and my parents, they could not understand her well due to the tonality of her Chinese pronunciations. Some funny miscommunication actually did happen.
It was no big deal (in fact the laughters bonded everyone even closer), but my wife insisted she wanted to learn Chinese effectively and talk like a native Chinese.
I wished I could teach her myself but I was too busy with my work, and besides, I didn’t know the right strategies to teach her.
This was when I stumbled upon this amazing program specially designed to help beginners not only to learn basic Chinese language, but also to get the pronunciation right.
After attending this program, now my wife can start speaking Chinese “naturally” and “confidently” in front of my friends.

China is definitely a place to go and experience the place especially if given the chance with a scholarship. I’ve worked there as a mechanical engineer for 2 years in Shanghai, and it’s definitely a culture blast for those from the West – but a good experience.

About 2 weeks ago I came across a really interesting article about the U.S. government and private organizations teaming up to create a program to raise funds for scholarships for college students to spend 1 year studying in China, as it related to math and engineering.
